Cabin

Gould Cabin
HungryHorse, MT

Don & Lorene Gould (Randy’s parents) wanted to use a different architect to avoid the uncomfortable issues surrounding working with, and being beholden to, a family member. But Randy would have none of it! Actually, it all went rather smoothly.

The Gould’s needed a place to land for a few months at a time without an overwhelming financial investment. Their needs were modest but they did want a place with charm and as Lorene said “pinta.” a Spanish word approximating “panache.” We designed a small, yet comfortable cabin with a bedroom, bathroom and open plan living room and kitchen. A generous loft allows for visiting friends and family. Timber trusses support an insulated panel roof. Board and batten siding, exposed timbers, and wood windows all add to the charm of this little cabin.

Construction: Randy Gould & Glenn Dyck
