Wollochet Bay Residence
Gig Harbor, WA
Our clients found a great piece of property
on Wollochet Bay that, while boasting an amazing view toward the mouth of the bay, presented several challenges.
Not the least of these was a slope of about 50 feet from road to beach.
Our design attempts to present a pleasant
view both from the road and the beach. A large curving window wall in the main Kitchen/Dining space showcases the
view while providing a smooth transition between the main house and the garage. Custom designed lighting and a
variety of materials lend uniqueness. Custom made stainless steel and cable railings with a laminated tropical
hardwood toprail and stained concrete floors are just a couple of examples. Large boulders in the landscape act
as steps leading down to the beach.
Materials and details consistent with
the style and feel of the region as well as a few borrowed from boating give this home an appropriate feel for
a waterfront home in the Pacific Northwest.
